The chocolate story
Thursday, June 28th, 2007Switzerland, the country in the lap of the Alps is the biggest producer and consumer of chocolate. How do they manage to enjoy such mountains of chocolate, more than 20 pounds of chocolate each person per year, without suffering an obesity crisis? The answer lies in the fact, according to a research; they work it off as fast as they eat it. A reality is that the Alpine lifestyle involves a lot of mountainous trips. Half the trips they make are by bikes or on foot. So being Switzerland a mountain country accounts for the Swiss to be able to produce and consume a lot of chocolate every year.
