In India most people use desi ghee instead of butter or margrine. Ghee or desi ghee is nothing but reduced butter. You just have to keep heating butter untill a clear liquid is left behind just clean it and use it thats what ghee is and is considered to be very good for health. If you do a lot of physical work you will not be harmed with all the fat it has but if you do nothing and sit all ay and have ghee in your food you are bound to get fat.

Have you ever tried mango shake made from raw milk? By raw milk I mean non pasturised milk and the reason I am asking is that it tastes a lot better then treated milk. I am sure many of you wil raise an eyebrow on this buy 95% of milk consumed in India is raw milk and no one here in India likes packed milk and I have never seen anyone fall ill due to any problems due to milk they consume.

Every delhi resident or anyone who has ever lived in Delhi would know what I am talkin about as eveyone must have had cholae kulchae at some point in their life. I still love the extra ordinary taste of cholae kulchae. You will see a cholae kulchae wala in almost every street corner selling the same stuff and every one just loves it for the taste and they are dirt cheap.

E ating out at Newdelhi s a bit too costly considering the local peoples earnings which are still too low as per international standards. A middle class man cannot even think of going to a good five star hotel for a dinner and even eating at small time joints isint too cheap either if you eant an average salary here at Newdelhi. Food stuff in genral is pretty cheap but when it comes to resturants its just too much to pay.

Clean water has always been a problem in Delhi and I dont think the government is doing enough to sort out this problem even now. I hate this city so much that I would love to relive my life again in some village where I would atleast get lots of fresh clean water. The ground water is so contaminated here in Delhi that if you start drinking it for a few months without treating it you would die of poisioning.

I am a great fan of aggarwal sweets at sagarpur and now they have opened up a new branch at Dwarka which has made life so much easier. The food they hae there is excelent from paobhaji to cholae bhaturae and many other delicacies. I particularly like their dhokla which is steamed. The sweets they prepare are of exceptional quality as well.

I am a big fan of road side chineese food vans especially the ones at Dwarka which serve some excelent chineese food and that too at throw away prices. The chowmein they sell is one of the best I have ever had with an exception of Delhi haat where you will find the best food ever. There are atleast three vans that I know of but I am sure there mut be more of them as Dwarka is pretty big.

We have a south Indian guy who coms around in his van and sells a lot of south Indian dishes which are very well prepared and are all cooked with orignal recipe straight from South India. This guy comes around at about ten in the morning and I love to eat idli and sambhar in break fast and it keeps me filled up untill lunch time. I some times try sambhar vada but idli with sambhar is my favourite.
